If you have ever needed a dental crown, you know that at most dental offices, it can be quite a lengthy process. They need to x-ray and plan your crown, prep your tooth, and then create a temporary crown to hold you over until your final restoration comes back from the dental lab.

That seems like a lot of steps!

At Spring Grove Dental, we create dental restorations in our office while you wait using CEREC technology. CEREC technology is a high-tech combination of 3-D digital scans, sophisticated software, and our in-office restoration milling machine. Our dentists oversee the process from start to finish, ensuring you receive great results every time.

We eliminate the need for a dental lab to create your dental crown and that can mean extra savings for you.

You never have to compromise on quality. Since our experienced dentist directs the creation of your dental crown from start to finish, you receive a highly esthetic restoration that is durable and long lasting.

We believe that dentistry should be convenient. One way we do that is by eliminating the extra appointment needed with traditional dental crowns. Give us a call to learn more about high-quality CEREC crowns!

Dental Implants

When patients have missing teeth, dental implants are one of the first things they ask about!

Chances are you have heard about the many health benefits of dental implants. If you are facing a dental extraction, you might be wondering if they are right for you.

To determine the best way to replace your missing teeth, we recommend you come to our office for a dental implant exam. This provides an opportunity to evaluate the health and density of your bone and determine if you are healthy enough for dental implants.

We use 3-D cone beam technology to get a clear picture of your bone and to plan the best location for your dental implant. 3-D imaging allows us to accurately plan and predict the outcome of your surgery.

Dental implants require a few different phases to complete treatment. Don’t worry the results are well worth it!

  • Planning
  • Surgery
  • Healing
  • Restoration

Once your dental implant is complete, you can enjoy an unrestricted diet and the convenience that dental implants provide. You can care for single dental implants very much like a natural tooth – brushing, flossing, and regular dental visits. With the proper care, your dental implant will provide confidence and stability when it comes to your smile.

Preventive Dentistry

We love treating your entire family in our office and encourage you to bring your child in for their first dental visit. We recommend that your child have his or her first dental appointment by their first birthday or when they get their first tooth – whichever comes first!

When you bring your child in for their early childhood dental visit, you are creating a solid foundation in oral health for their little smile.

We will use your child’s first dental appointment to help them become acquainted with the dental office and our team. We will make this visit fun for them! Much of our time will be spent communicating with you, the parent, on how to best care for your child’s teeth at home, what to look for in their immediate development, and how to protect their precious smile.

We will, of course, perform an exam with your child’s cooperation and make sure that everything with them is on track and their teeth look healthy.

As your child develops, so will our dental care. We offer preventive services such as fluoride treatments, sealants, and diagnostic x-rays. If your child has a cavity, we are here for them and will make sure their treatment is comfortable and that they leave with a smile.

Sedation Dentistry

Dental anxiety is no laughing matter. It can cause patients to avoid their regular dental care and lead to serious conditions that require treatment – often on an emergency basis.

At Spring Grove Dental, we do our best to provide our patients with the type of compassionate care that helps them relax. We are gentle and each member of our team quickly gains the trust of our patients through their kindness.

For some patients, though, dental fear goes so deep that they need a little help relaxing so they can get the care they need.

We offer three types of sedation dentistry in our office:

Nitrous oxide sedation – Nitrous oxide, or "laughing gas," is mild and extremely safe for most patients. The effects quickly wear off after treatment, and you will be able to go about your normal activities. Nitrous oxide feels mild and takes the edge of for our nervous patients. We can even use it on kids.

Oral sedation dentistry – If you want something that helps you through longer treatment times or provides a higher level of relaxation, we can discuss oral sedation. This prescription medication helps you achieve a relaxed state. It is longer lasting than nitrous oxide and reduces the memory you have of your dental appointment. Oral sedation is a great option for patients who have difficulty getting numb or a strong gag reflex.

IV Sedation – IV sedation delivers the strongest level of sedation available at our Richmond, IN dental office. A licensed anesthesiologist will administer your sedative through an IV and monitor you throughout your appointment to ensure safety.

TMJ Treatment

If you have jaw pain, you are not alone. Millions of Americans experience symptoms related to their jaws at some point during their lives. In many cases, patients don’t know where to turn. We can help!

Jaw pain, headaches, neck aches, shoulder pain, and even ringing in the ears can all indicate a problem with your jaw or bite. In some cases, we can trace the cause to bruxism, a clenching and grinding habit. In other cases, it might be misalignment of your bite or teeth.

No matter the cause, we provide solutions!

Oftentimes, jaw pain causes muscle inflammation, which then causes more jaw pain. We create custom occlusal splints to help your jaw joints seat properly and encourage your muscles to relax. These splints are not your average nightguard. We design them to encourage your jaw to gently glide into its most comfortable and ideal position.

Regular adjustments to your splint will keep your jaw feeling comfortable. It will also provide a barrier between your upper and lower teeth, preventing fractures and the wear that are common with a bruxism habit.

Jaw pain can affect every aspect of your life and make it difficult to relax, sleep, or even eat properly. You don’t have to live with jaw pain. Call us today!
